As the team leader for this group project in the Fundamentals of Computing module(IT1140) at SLIIT, I had the privilege of guiding a team of six in creating a comprehensive water tank monitoring system. This project addresses critical water management challenges with innovative features and sustainable energy solutions.
Project Highlights:
Real-Time Water Level Monitoring: Integrated ultrasonic and additional sensors for precise, live tracking of water levels, preventing overflow and optimizing water usage.
Sustainable Power Solution: Powered by a combination of rechargeable batteries and a solar panel, ensuring a reliable, eco-friendly energy source.
Mobile App Integration: Designed a user-friendly mobile application providing real-time notifications, water usage insights, and remote monitoring.
Wireless Connectivity: Leveraged ESP32 technology for seamless data transmission, supporting remote access.
Data Logging & Analysis: Enabled daily logging of water consumption data, helping users make informed water-saving decisions.
Smart Scarecrow Feature: Built an automated scarecrow prototype using a motion sensor and servo motor to simulate animal deterrence, highlighting versatile use cases.
The project received high praise from our lecturers for addressing modern water management needs through advanced technology and sustainable design. Special thanks to my team for their dedication, and to everyone who supported us!
